What is psychosis? What are the causes and possible treatments? This 3-week course aims to present some of the current understandings and knowledge about hearing voices, experiencing paranoia or any other experiences that often lead to diagnosis of ‘psychosis’. Moving away from the focus on biological explanations and medications as a treatment of choice, we will look also at social and psychological explanations of psychosis and different approaches to treatment. We hope to encourage a conversation and learn from each other about different experiences and explanations of what it means to live with psychosis and what people find helpful to live a good life. This course is suitable for people with lived experience, family, friends and professionals.
Starts Wednesday 23rd May 2018 2.00 - 4.00pm
