UNDERSTANDING SOCIAL MEDIA
AND MENTAL HEALTH

This discussion group will help you to understand the links between social media and issues relating to self-worth, mood, anxiety and depression, and support you in managing your social media use for better mental health.

What is involved?

Social media has become a massive, sometimes overwhelming part of our lives. Whilst our favourite apps have their uses, the negative impact of social media on our mental health is becoming a growing concern.

Issues relating to anxiety, depression, mood and self-worth are being found to be exacerbated by social media, as well as addiction to online social platforms themselves.

This one-off discussion group offers a safe space to talk about your concerns, understand the true nature of social media, and how to use this knowledge to benefit your mental health.

Who is it for?

Are you finding social media is negatively impacting your mental health? Do you scroll for hours without thinking about it? Would you like to spend more time offline but are struggling to put down your phone?

This group is for anyone who feels social media is having a negative impact on their mental health.
