THE NATURE OF THE MIND

This one-off session will briefly describe some of the main ideas from our ‘Discovering Mindfulness’ course.

We will learn about the nature of the mind and why we can have so many negative thoughts that we feel overwhelmed.

What is involved?

Are you struggling with worrying about the future or constantly replaying difficult memories from the past? This course can help us understand why our mind behaves the way it does and what we can do to help.

The session will consist of a few exercises and some discussions about the mind, mental health and stigma. By the end, you will have a better understanding of your mind.

Please note: There is no pressure to speak during the session — listening is also participating. This is not group therapy, but many people find it therapeutic. There is no expectation to share your personal story or talk about what you’re currently struggling with.

Please note that our courses are subject to a minimum number of sign-ups, if we do not receive the minimum number of sign-ups unfortunately the group will be cancelled.
You will be emailed a Wellbeing Form which must be completed before you start the course.
Please let us know at the earliest available opportunity if you no longer wish to attend the group and we can give your space to someone on our waiting list.

This is good session to attend if you would like to get a sense of what our Discovering Mindfulness course is about, or if you are a beginner to mindfulness.
