Join in this fantastic opportunity to connect, explore and express your personal story through creative writing story telling.
This course will give participants the opportunity to work with a professional writer to focus on journey and self-exploration whilst looking after their minds and mental health. The programme will continue into the New Year with the hope of publishing a book at the end of the project.
Professional writer, Jane Archer will be working with the groups. Based in Perthshire, Jane is passionate about the right to be creative, and marginalised voices being heard. She has delivered workshops on short story writing and has worked with both national and community groups to help tell their story. Her writing has been shortlisted and commended in the Bridport Prize, The White Review and Manchester Fiction Prize, and has been published in a variety of national anthologies. She is currently a project officer with the Autumn Voices Third Age Pioneers project to support older people in Perthshire to tell their story. Jane also works as an independent advocacy worker for IAPK (Independent Advocacy Perth & Kinross).
Jane said: “I am absolutely delighted to be a part of the Perth Theatre and Mindspace writing project. I’m really looking forward to creating a space that supports people to tell their story in whichever way feels right for them.”
There will be another 6-week block in March – dates to be confirmed.
This course will be held at Perth Theatre.
Horsecross Arts is supported by Creative Scotland, Perth & Kinross Council and The Gannochy Trust.
