THE ART OF DETACHMENT

Sometimes we care so deeply that we carry everything with us — other people’s moods, their opinions, situations we can’t control, and thoughts we can’t seem to switch off.

Healthy detachment isn’t about becoming cold, distant or uncaring. It’s about learning how to care without carrying everything.

What is involved?

In this gentle, practical session, The Art of Detachment explores how we can create healthier emotional boundaries, step back from unhelpful thoughts and release the need to control outcomes that are outside our hands.

We’ll explore simple ways to respond rather than react, protect our emotional energy, and reconnect with what is within our control.

You’ll explore how to:

  • Let go of the need to control what you cannot change
  • Create healthier emotional boundaries without feeling guilty
  • Step back from overthinking, rumination and “what if” thinking
  • Separate someone else’s feelings or behaviour from your own sense of self
  • Respond to difficult situations with more calm and perspective

Whether you tend to overthink, people-please, take things personally, struggle to say no, or find yourself carrying other people’s problems, this session offers a space to pause, reflect and learn a different way of relating to what happens around you.

Please note that our courses are subject to a minimum number of sign-ups, if we do not receive the minimum number of sign-ups unfortunately the group will be cancelled.
You will be emailed a Wellbeing Form which must be completed before you start the course.
