WINDOW OF TOLERANCE: HOW TO STAY IN YOUR EMOTIONAL SAFE ZONE

This course introduces the concept of the window of tolerance and how stress and emotions affect our daily lives.

Over two sessions you will explore your own response to overwhelm and anxiousness and learn strategies to help regulate your emotions when they are becoming out of control to return to a calmer, more balanced state through reflective and mindful activities. The course is suitable for anyone who wishes to build emotional awareness, develop coping skills, and improve overall wellbeing.

What is involved:

The window of tolerance is your emotional state in which you are most able to function in a calm, controlled, and helpful manner. The course will help you to recognise when you are shifting away from this emotional state and what your triggers are.

What you will gain:

  • Learn how to recognise the signs
  • What triggers those emotions
  • Small daily strategies you can use that may help you to regulate your emotions

No previous knowledge required with no requirement to share personal experiences should you not wish to do so.

Please note: There is no pressure to speak during the session — listening is also participating. This is not group therapy, but many people find it therapeutic. There is no expectation to share your personal story or talk about what you’re currently struggling with.

Please note that our courses are subject to a minimum number of sign-ups, if we do not receive the minimum number of sign-ups unfortunately the group will be cancelled.
You will be emailed a Wellbeing Form which must be completed before you start the course.
Please let us know at the earliest available opportunity if you no longer wish to attend the group and we can give your space to someone on our waiting list.
